ACCREDITED BOOK CONSERVATOR
I am a highly experienced book and paper conservator and an Accredited Member of the Institute of Conservation.
Working from my dedicated studio in North London, I carry out conservation treatments on paper-
I have extensive experience in the remedial conservation of a wide range of historical bookbinding styles and formats from the 16th-20th centuries. My approach is to retain as much of the original material as possible whilst carrying out skilful repairs that are appropriate to the history, aesthetics and future use of the item.
As an Accredited conservator, my work is meticulous and adheres to the highest professional standards as outlined by ICON here. Each conservation project is accompanied by written and photographic documentation. The various treatment options are discussed with the client throughout the conservation process which is often a process of collaboration.
CONSERVATION SERVICES
I offer various additional services such as gold finishing, bespoke handmade boxes, phase boxing of collections and conservation mounting.
I have a keen interest in photographic preservation and can advise on and carry out rehousing projects in addition to the conservation of photographic materials.
I undertake condition surveys and regularly work onsite on exhibition installations, producing condition reports for valuable books and works of art on paper and providing conservation and handling advice.
I offer an insured transport service and am able to transport equipment and materials to enable onsite working where necessary.
